About the Author

Victoria Urubshurow

Victoria Urubshurow is Associate Professor at University of Maryland University College, and Senior Lecturer at University of Maryland College Park. She has taught courses in world religions and culture for over two decades, including graduate seminars at Catholic University of America, and undergraduate classes at George Washington University, and Coe College. As an Historian of Culture (Ph.D., University of Chicago), she has written on theory of religious symbols, spiritual biography, and aspects of Buddhism – including a volume on Buddha's life for "The Complete Idiot's Guide" series. She also holds a degree in Public Policy Studies (M.A., Harris School of Public Policy Studies, University of Chicago), and is experienced with online course development and delivery. She is married and has two children.
